
As the long January days stretch on and on, some of the people at my office came up with an idea to make the most of winter! We are in the process of building an office cubicle on the middle of Medicine Lake (NW of Hwys 169 and I-394). The idea started with a series of art shantys that some Twin City artists have been building over the last few years - more details

here. Overall, I think that it's a pretty funny idea and while our "Ice Cubicle" is being constructed by non-artitsts, it's interesting to be involved with real artists.

Bear in mind the fact that for the first two days/nights we worked on this temperatures ranged from 10 F to zero and wind chills below -20 F. Not much for wind blocks either. The water cooler had some water still in it - it literally froze in seconds. We also put a two cutouts in the floor, providing the potential for ice fishing. I plan to catch sand, lots of
scotch and maybe
eel pout if I'm lucky.
