Skol!

Go Vikes! Meg and I were invited by Katie Lee and Mike Haddad to go to the Vikings game today, a great privilege as her family tailgates in the player's lot with Matt Birk's family. They're all wonderfully hospitable people and was always have a great time. One of the things that never fails to amaze me is the constant display of "bling" that is the player's cars. Seriously, some of these vehicles must be valued similar to the GDP of a small island nation. Displayed above is Chester Taylor's new ride. Last season he was rolling is a custom Mercedes SL which requires a check for well over $100,000 in addition to the "upgrades" he directed. But I suppose that playing for a team located in an area that receives snow, I guess that truck is more appropriate. What really put me over the top was the fact that aside from the obivious expense that is the mechanical artwork that a Range Rover is (regardless of the modifications), was the fact that the hood of the car no longer identifies the manufacturer. It actually says "CHESTER TAYLOR" in diamond encrusted letters. As if he might forget that it's his car. Oh well, the tailgate and game were fun and it was nice to see Steve Huchinson and his four year-old daugher after the game. It's so easy to foget that the players in professional sports are still people at the end of the day.

People who roll in diamond encrusted vehicles, you mean.

I thought everyone had their name on the hood? Glad you had fun hanging out with the guys. Leave it to the offensive lineman to be a "regular" guy. They are so undervalued.
