We Are the Champions!

Softball ended in St. Paul tonight. While it saddens me to know that it will be 2009 when the old horsehide flies again, we did end on a great note. Our St. Paul rec-league team finished undefeated for the fall season. How's that feel Bellicheck (cc Mike Haddad)? Oh, snap!

It was fun tonight, especially as it's about as cold as you'd want it to be and still play, but that's what Minnesota is. Can't wait for that Twins stadium to open without the roof. Seriously, I did pull off my best slide of the season when I tore into third and eeked out the edge of the bag around the baseman's tag. I literally pulled it off, losing my tear-away pants in the process. A little chilly out there! Marc perfected his sliding too, and while not as graceful as his walk-off, inside-the-park run a while back, just as effective.

Actually, I think that after losing a few this spring, we didn't lose in for a good number of months. It's a hodge-podge team centered around Chief Hooligan, Tony Mason, but we had fun. Now on to curling, broom ball and hockey.
