After attending Dan & Leslie's wedding in Appleton last weekend, a number of people noted that it's been a while since we posted something here! Yes, I'm sorry, but as you all can guess, life get's busy sometimes. Let's see, what's happened since April? We'll try to itemize:
- Fritz started crawing (and has 8 teeth now-ouch)
- Mark Taylor graduated from Creighton Prep in Omaha,
- Meg and Fritz visited the Taylors in Omaha in June,
- We all went to the lake for a week (awesome!) in July,
- Carl went to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area with the guys,
- We're in the process of adding a dining room to the house,
- and Fritz is nearly walking. Definitely more trouble than crawling. It's amazing how much is within 30 inches of the floor.
I know that there's more, but it's tough to get it all done between work and home.
Meg's back at school now, starting her second year at Shakopee Junior High with the 9th graders, and is adjusting to getting up in the morning again. Ah! To have summers off.
I'm still working around the midwest, mostly in Minnesota and South Dakota. I have found that Sioux Falls is a pretty nice town, and much more than a little stop on the highway. Really, it's amazing to see how downtown and surrounding area has grown there. I also spent some time in Sioux City, Iowa, where one co-worker noted, "you can watch your dog run away for 3 days there." That might be an overstatement, but it is one of the few places where you can see three states from downtown (Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota...Minnesota isn't far either). Pretty nice place; they've built a new event center which nicely compliments the historic auditorium there.
Well ya, I'll try to start anew with posting, hopefully we'll get the addition done soon (electrical, drywall and flooring needed still) so we can rest a bit.
