After months of anticipation, Pat and Danielle's wedding weekend finally arrived!!
The drive was nothing to write home about. We trekked across Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, then finally made our way to Ohio. Needless to say, by then we had driven through the night and were running on empty. I did not know that it was possible to get the giggles after college because I haven't had a good case of them since then; but let me assure you, it is possible. After catching a few hours of sleep, it was off to explore what Huron had to offer.
After an evening of rehearsals, fantastic food, and heartfelt well-wishes for the bride and groom; it was time to really get the party started!
The ceremony went off without a hitch. Carl and I both had the honor of being a part of the wedding party. With this honor, I had the best seat in the house because I had the incredible pleasure of being able to watch Pat's face as he said his vows. Never have I seen such a look of pure happiness and contentment on a person's face before. There is a picture from our wedding where Pat has a similar look on his face, and I still return to that picture and get teary-eyed. The look of joy that his face can capture is something that I rarely see in others - it's kind of a Pat thing - , I am so glad that I got to see that same look, only intensified, at his wedding. Again, it made me cry.
Then it was onto the reception! If you know the Schneeman family, especially Pat and Danielle, you know that the night was filled with incredible dancing and socializing; but the Boucher family is the equivalent of the Schneemans when it comes to celebrating. The dance floor was filled from the beginning of the night until the end. To be perfectly honest, I almost thought we were going to skip dinner and just hit the dance floor.
Pat and Danielle, we wish you nothing but a lifetime filled with a million dances. There really are no two people in the world more perfectly suited for one another than you two. May your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace. May your troubles grow few as your blessings increase. May the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past. Here's to the beginning of a wonderful life together.
(P.S. For those of you wondering, Fritz was a fabulous child the entire weekend. Thanks to all who helped us out!)
