Kristen, as I sat down to write this speech, I think that I started over at least a dozen times. It was incredibly difficult for me to put into words just how happy I am for you and Casey. I have had the pleasure of being able to watch you two grow as a couple over the last several years, and there really are no two people more perfect for one another. I have never seen anyone put a smile on your face the way that Casey does and I just knew that one day I would be standing at your wedding.
Even though I think weddings are magical times, I have always thought that the best part is the day after. All of the stress of the “big day” is done and you can just settle into your new life together. Sure there will be days when you don’t really like each other very much and times when you really just can’t agree on anything, but there will also be days when everything is perfect. That’s the beauty of marriage.
So, when all is said and done and you are back at your house and all the gifts have been opened and put away and you don’t constantly have people asking you how the wedding plans are going, you two can look at each other and know that your best days are yet to come.
Remember to be patient with one another and to laugh every day. Don’t forget occasionally to drop everything and just dance in your kitchen. Don’t worry about being perfect, because no one is; and try to stop just once every day and realize how lucky you are to have found each other.
If everyone would please raise their glass. To Kristen and Casey, may your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace. May your troubles grow few as your blessings increase. May the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past. Here's to the beginning of a wonderful life together.
